Employees at all levels are responsible for safety and supported by management.
All employees will be encouraged to participate in site safety efforts; including safety teams, safety inspections, risk reporting and safety observations.
All sites will manage and address their risks based on a risk assessment process, prior to beginning work. Employees are empowered to stop any unsafe task and take the necessary steps with management to mitigate the hazards.
INCIDENT REPORTING & INVESTIGATION
All relevant incidents and accidents are to be reported and investigated, with appropriate corrective actions for follow-up and long-term prevention. Learnings will be shared across all businesses.
Safety performance and results will be shared freely across all businesses. Special achievements shall be recognized.
All sites are expected to implement annual safety programs to enhance safety performance year-over-year. Compliance with regulatory safety standards shall be considered the minimum expectation.
Business areas and sites will have clearly defined safety roles and responsibilities to match their safety circumstances. All businesses must have well-established safety committees.
Safety training shall be conducted, which shall include initial employment and job transfers; as well as general and job-specific training.
All sites will be assessed on a regular basis. In addition to the applicable regulatory fundamentals, sites will also be expected to exhibit continuous improvement regarding internal and external safety standards.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
Everyone working on an Argos site is expected to observe our safety policies. This shall include visitors and contractors, as well as employees. Adherence is considered a condition of employment for employees, and a qualifying factor for contractors.
